"Not Easily Broken" brings a very vivid reality to the big screen - marriages versus the real world. Set in a community that's much like one most Americans live in, the movie follows the life of Dave and Clarice Johnson - a pro baseball aspirant turned handyman, and a very successful real estate agent. We see the challenges they face in the marriage, as they try to make it work despite the dashed hopes and unfulfilled longings. As is very typical of most marriages, they drift apart, listen less and each focus on what makes them happy.

Everything comes to a screeching halt, when they experience a tragedy that sends them spinning in an unexpected direction. Instead of drawing closer together, they drift even further apart - leaving enough room for all kinds of third-party to take residence.

The long process of healing reveals buried hurts and agony; and the concept of forgiveness surfaces in several forms.

The movie ends in a climatic moment, when Clarice realizes what's important in her marriage and what's not - and moves to make things right. God also decides to step in, and provides relief to a really sore spot in the marriage.

I highly recommend this movie for mature audiences, who are having challenges in their marriages, or perhaps need a glimpse into how Christian marriages sometimes survive the evils that threaten to destroy them.
